Scoonie Golf Club is situated in the seaside town of Leven in the Kingdom of Fife. It is a picturesque parkland course about 15 miles from the famous Old Course in St.Andrews and enjoys panoramic views to the north over farmland and hills and to the south over the beautiful Forth estuary . Originally opened as a 9 hole course it has been extended over the years, in 1936 land was obtained to extend the course and James Braid was employed to do the design. Scoonie Golf Club is a member of the Association of James Braid courses and the course provides sufficient challenges to maintain the interest of low handicap golfers whilst remaining within the capabilities of the higher handicappers.
There is a continual programme of development for the course to ensure that it meets modern requirements and continues to provide good golf for both Members and visitors. The current Club was formed in 1951 and is open to ladies, gentlemen and juniors and over the years has been proud to see Members develop from the Juniors ranks to become adults representing their country at international level. The clubhouse provides full catering and bar services throughout the season and visiting individuals and parties are always sure of a warm welcome.
With the start of the season at Scoonie just under 3 weeks away the Captain has arrange two medal weekends to get back into the swing of things and for any new members to get their cards in for handicap before the official start of the season.
Saturday 23rd and Saturday 30th March as a normal club competition there will be an AM and PM session. The AM session will now have 2 blocks for bookings. Starting from 08:00am to 08:40am with the second block starting at 08:48am to 09:30am. If there is not enough players to make up the first block the players in the second block will be added to the last tee time in the first block to make sure there is no gaps between the tee times.
The PM session will be starting at 11:45am. This will be just for these two weekends and will back to normal for the upcoming season.
Entry sheets are up in the club on the notice board as normal. Unfortunately at the moment there are still some technical difficulties to get the online booking system up and running which we hope to have sorted for the start of the season.
All new members who wish to play must have their fees paid before Saturday 23rd March if they are looking to play in the pre-season games which will allow them to put their cards in before the start of the season.
Visitors are always welcome and as well as the golfing treat you can also sample the warm hospitality while enjoying the full facilities of the clubhouse, Bar and catering facilities.
